The next genre we will consider is the “Lamentation” which is connected in many cases to the “imprecatory” Psalms from last week. Lamentations are common in our life’s experience - They can be personal, institutional or national. In our culture we downplay them, deny them, or sterilize them, but we can’t make them go away.
